Questions
What is a healthy BMI?
For most adults, 18.5 to 24.9 is considered healthy. For Asian Indian adults, health guidelines use a lower cut-off: 23 and above is overweight.
Is BMI accurate for everyone?
BMI does not distinguish muscle from fat, so it can mislead for athletes, older adults and during pregnancy. Use it as a screening tool.
