Questions
What is FOIR?
Fixed Obligation to Income Ratio — the share of your monthly income that can go towards all EMIs, including the new loan. Most lenders cap it at 40–60%.
How much of the property price can be a loan?
RBI's loan-to-value limits: up to 90% for loans up to ₹30 lakh, 80% for ₹30–75 lakh and 75% above ₹75 lakh. You pay the rest as down payment, plus stamp duty and registration.
How can I get a bigger loan?
Close small loans first, add a co-applicant with income, choose a longer tenure, or improve your credit score for a better rate. The final amount is always the lender's decision.
