Questions
What is the tank-to-tank method?
Fill the tank to the brim and note the odometer. Next time, fill to the brim again — the litres needed equal the fuel used for the distance travelled. It is the most accurate way to measure real mileage.
What is l/100 km?
Litres used to travel 100 km — a lower number is better. It equals 100 ÷ km per litre, so 15 km/l is about 6.67 l/100 km.
Why is my mileage lower than the claimed figure?
Company (ARAI) figures are measured in controlled tests. City traffic, AC use, tyre pressure, load and driving style all lower real-world mileage.
