Questions

What is a complementary colour?

The colour directly opposite on the colour wheel (180° away). Complementary pairs give strong contrast — for example, a deep red with teal.

Analogous, triadic or tetradic — which should I use?

Analogous colours (neighbours on the wheel) feel calm and harmonious. Triadic (three colours 120° apart) is lively and balanced. Tetradic (four colours 90° apart) is rich but works best with one dominant colour.

How do I copy a colour?

Click any swatch to copy its HEX code to the clipboard.
